*) SNR value
The SNR value (Simplified Noise Reduction), measured in dB, indicates the average attenuation in the entire analyzed frequency range (i.e. 125 – 8000 Hz).
Frequency ranges in Hz:
H = high frequency (2000 – 8000 Hz) M = medium frequency (500 – 2000 Hz) L = low frequency (125 – 500 Hz)
Tested by PZT GmbH (1974), An der Junkerei 48, D-26389 Wilhelmshaven / GER on May 18, 2016 under test number 771603-1. Further information can be requested from the manufacturer.
In workplaces where hearing protection is used, ambient noise must usually remain audible. Important aspects when selecting suitable hearing protection are the audibility of warning signals and information-containing work noises as well as speech intelligibility at the workplace. As an aid to selection, the IFA positive list (list of all hearing protectors reported to the IFA with an EC type examination certificate) contains additional indicators for signal audibility. The IFA determines the characteristics from the average values of the sound insulation that were measured during the type testing of the hearing protectors.
| Areas of application according to IFA positive list | |
|---|---|
| W | Warning signals: Criteria "Hearing warning signals in general", "Information-containing noises" and "Speech intelligibility" fulfilled |
| X | Extremely low-attenuation hearing protection. Suitable for people with hearing loss. |
| S | Signal listening possible in the track superstructure |
| V | Roadworthiness: signal hearing possible for drivers in road traffic |
| E | Railroad operations: Hearing signals possible for train drivers and engine drivers in railroad operations E1= Very suitable (especially for people with hearing impairment), E3= Conditionally suitable |

OPTION: WITHOUT HANDLE
The Phonor Linear Comfort is generally supplied with a handle for attaching a cord. This hearing protection can optionally be manufactured without a handle, making it ideal for musicians, concert-goers or those who frequently make phone calls.
